Out-of-School-Time STEM Instructors. 

This position requires facilitating STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math - sessions to elementary and middle school students in after-school sites in Palm Beach and Broward, FL during the hours 3:00pm - 5:30pm.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver engaging in-person STEM lessons to groups of students in grades 3-8, in accordance with the Brain Workout Academy curriculum.

• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and fosters a love for STEM.

• Drive with own car to sites around Palm Beach/Broward counties to deliver the sessions.

• Use own laptop for sessions’ presentations.

• Participate in paid training as required.

• Record student attendance during sessions.

• Capture pictures depicting children engagement.

• Collect consent forms from parents.

• Keep materials and supplies for use during the sessions and collect them back at the end of each session.

 

Who You Are:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, STEM/STEAM education, or related field.

• Have proven experience in teaching or instructing in the specific subject area

• Peoples person, outgoing, energetic and passionate about engaging children in STEM learning.

• Leader, have patience, care and empathy towards disadvantaged students and know to create an inclusive learning environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Able to react positively to rapidly changing circumstances.

• Comfortable teaching and leading groups, up to 25 students at a time.

• Have a valid driver license.

• Have access to a car.

• Have strong organizational and time management skills.

• Available to work between 3:00pm - 5:30 pm.

• Must go through background check.

 

Job Type: Contract (Independent Contractor)

Salary: $50.00 per hour + milage

Expected hours: 2 – 8 per week
