Join our team as a STEM Educator

Are you passionate about teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and inspiring the next generation? The Brain Workout Academy is seeking dedicated STEM educators to join our team as an independent contractor (1099). In this role, you will deliver our engaging and playful STEM curriculum to elementary and middle school students in after-school programs throughout Palm Beach and Broward, FL. Typical hours are between 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM, with additional morning sessions available during summer break.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate engaging in-person STEM lessons to groups of students in grades K-8, in accordance with the Brain Workout Academy curriculum.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and fosters a love for STEM.

  • Drive with own car to sites around Palm Beach county to deliver the sessions.

  • Use own laptop for sessions’ presentations.

  • Participate in paid training as required.

  • Record student attendance during sessions.

  • Capture pictures depicting children engagement.

  • Keep materials and supplies for use during the sessions and collect them back at the end of each session.

 

Who You Are:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, STEM education, or related field.

  • Have proven experience teaching STEM.

  • People person, outgoing, energetic and passionate about engaging children in STEM learning.

  • Leader, have patience, care and empathy towards disadvantaged students and know to create an inclusive learning environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Able to react positively to rapidly changing circumstances.

  • Comfortable teaching and leading groups, up to 25 students at a time.

  • Have a valid driver license.

  • Have access to a car.

  • Have strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Available to work between 2:00pm - 5:30 pm.

  • Must go through background check.

 

Job Type: Contract (Independent Contractor - 1099)

Salary: $50.00 per hour + mileage

Expected work load: 2 – 8 hour a week during the school year; more during the summer.
